Young Anakin Skywalker Grew Up to Be One Glum Alum, See What He Looks Like Now!

Jake Lloyd, the child actor who played Young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace, is one glum alum. We, for one, can excuse the poor chap’s surliness. It must be hard to live with the fact that most Star Wars fans blame you (along with Jar Jar Binks) for ruining their beloved movie. Now ten years later, the 20 year old college student talks with Sci Fi Chanel Australia Blog about his the challenges of playing the role, his disdain for his classmates (he calls them unintelligent) and how being one of the most disliked characters in the Star Wars series has affected his life. It makes us wonder if perhaps Darth Vader was also taunted to this degree. If so, we can understand why he chose to go to the Dark Side . But for all his moaning and groaning, Jake Lloyd says he doesn’t want you to feel sorry for him. After watching the interview, we came away with the impression of him being an intelligent, geeky, awkward teen who people probably would have teased regardless of his Phantom Menace past. Unfortunately, the force is just not with him.

I’m surprised his version of the character is hated, since he was still a force for good at that point. Gee Whiz. Haiden Christianson is the one who should be getting all the shit.
